Mate

No video this time, just link to proper chilled track: HERE

Anyway. Nowt much been happening in life. Another lab report has bit the dust, sadly back in the organic labs next week - lots of crap hanging over there. Got my dissertation mark back, 68%. Not bad, would have liked higher though. Not had any of my lab reports back from physical labs this term (well, I've got one but the mark isn't written on it which is helpful) so no idea how thats going. Not had much stuff back this year, would be nice to know roughly how things are going.

Bloody sick of this dingy room. The light is crap, keeps doing my eyes in. Can't really read anything in here cos there just isn't enough light. Ah well. Hopefully this weekend I'll be back home, all depends on Dads card turning up after a slight cock-up with the train tickets.

Trying to decide if I should go kayaking tomorrow. Would quite like to, but might just power through the longer lab report I've got to hand in next week so theres nothing at the back of my mind when I'm at home. Not feeling anything at the minute. Just feel tired and fed-up the whole bloody time. Definitely in need of a holiday.

Let the good times roll...

Oooh...

Big day tomorrow, finally getting my dissertation mark back. It counts for bugger-all towards my degree, but would like to get a good mark after all the bloody work that went into it.
Got the netbook all sorted out for the train journey home on Friday. Well, I have a mobile internet stick and the A-Team on the hard-drive. Going to be a wonderful journey.

Four weeks left of term! Crazy.

Made some purchases

Been spending the ole birthday money before I even get it - had a crappy week though so felt like cheering myself up. Ordered the following:

DVD - Fight Club, A-Team seasons 4 and 5
Blu-Ray - District 9, Kick Ass
Stereophonics summer 2010 tour t-shirt

Only shame is I can't watch the blu-rays whilst up North. Will have a busy first few days at home methinks. Tempted by an A-Team t-shirt as well...I like having stuff like that for bumming around the house in.

Seems that posting a music video has become obligatory on here, so what to choose for today?

Fucks sake wireless...

Was absolutely made up when Pulp announced live dates for this summer. Was too young to see them the first time round, so finally here was my chance! Utter bollocks though that they're playing the massive chav-fest that is Wireless. Nevertheless, I bought my ticket. Figured that if they managed to get Pulp they must be able to get a half decent line-up for the rest of the day. Oh how I was wrong.

TV on the Radio, Foals, The Horrors, Metronomy.

Shitting hell. What a sad little collection. Everything thats wrong with music in one day. Just hope that Pulp do some warmup shows so I can ditch the Wireless tickets and just have a night of good music.

Oh well. Will all be worth it if Pulp pull it off.

After all, Jarvis is the man.

Another Sunday gone....

Just been checking on the TCT tickets...all shows still available, goes to show how weak it is this year! At least one date sold out ridiculously fast the past four years I've been. Theres no bands there I would want to see, but I was expecting more than that, especially for the Beady Eye night. Not been impressed by them at all so far, but Noel managed to sell out two nights in minutes from what I remember so was expecting something similar to happen here just from Oasis fans wanting to see Liam. Guess he really misjudged peoples desire to listen to his John Lennon impression.

Anyway, used my Tesco voucher to invest in some Kopparberg, so might have to crack a can of that open now. Been watching the A-Team and writing up bad lab reports today. It is has been productive on both fronts, just need to read through tomorrows lab and I can go to bed with a clear mind.

Good ole Johnny. Thats one hell of a voice, and one hell of a tune. Don't make 'em like that any more! Doesn't have much to do with anything else, but its what I'm listening to at the mo.

Heres to next week!

Well...

...if we're talking songs with a bloody good build-up, I spose I should leave this here:

...

Just cos I was listening to this song when I had to a put a title on the blog...

Gotta love a song with that kind of build-up...

Hells yeah

Been a good couple of days. Went off to Middlesborough last night to see Feeder, the set was a bit heavy on naff Renegades tracks, and there were slightly too many knob-heads jumping on top of people for my liking, but overall was very, very good night. Got a good little group of people going on now, so was a nice vibe. Even the bus was free so can't complain about any of it really.

Then onto today...not really done anything today but I've sent off my CV for some possible summer work (tells you how shit getting a job is when thats a good thing) and then won a grand total of £9.71 on the footy/rugby. Nice wins there for Spurs and Wales, so all very good indeed!

Got a bottle of Jack Daniels and some Dr Pepper (needs must!) to make tonight that little bit better. Good times. Not felt this positive since coming back this term. Bout time things started looking up.

(Been buying too many gig tickets this week. Carl Barat, TCT comedy night and Turin Brakes at Bishop's Stortford for no apparent reason have left a nice hole in the pocket).

Head full of disease

Woopee, about to start another week of insane working, but this time just to make it more fun I am going to have to put up with being full of contagious disease. Gotta love colds. I can't wait til tomorrow morning when I get to walk for half an hour in the cold so that I can stand around all day doing Chemistry (and it all going wrong - this is labs we're talking about here) and then walk all the way back.

Other bad things? Bloody IAESTE. Should have been a great opportunity to get some work experience abroad, instead I'm given a list of engineering placements and offers that would mean I would be working well into the middle of next year...not the best planning when your company is aimed at students in their penultimate year of study. Can't really skive off for 6 months without it going unnoticed. The careers service also wisely managed to not tell us about some different summer placement work until after the deadline had gone - which was good of them.

But lets not think about that. Lets think about the positive things in life, mainly the announcement tomorrow of the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs line-up. Why is this so good?

Truely brilliant, brilliant music. Been to these gigs for the past four years now, and they have been some of the best nights of my life (apart from Paul Weller - couldn't have been more boring if he tried). Hoping to go again this year, so fingers crossed for another brilliant line-up. The way things have been going though, I wouldn't be surprised if it sucks. That would be a kick in the teeth, but it would save some money.

(Just remembered more reasons to be cheerful, Arsenal's monumental cockup yesterday, Man U losing to the team at the bottom of the table and Chelsea going the same way too....oh how I laughed).
