Tried not getting too interested in the first song to be released from Noel's first solo album after the massive disappointment that was Beady Eye. Have to say however I was pleasantly surprised. Not a brilliant tune, but not bad. The lyrics are a bit weak in places but that dirty muted trumpet or whatever it is more than makes up for that. Just goes to show that Liam is a brilliant front man, but without Noel's songs he ain't up to much. Got through about 15 mins of Beady Eye at the Japan benefit before I had to leave through sheer boredom. Anyway, looking forward to hearing the rest of what Noel's been up to.
Got all my gear and documents now for my trip to the USA, getting a bit near now. This time next month I'll be well on my way. Had a little practice trip to Berlin last week. Nice enough city, but its all looking back there. Got a bit depressing after a while. Didn't find the people particularly charming either, bit of a miserable bunch. Next stop Cadiz and 38 degrees of heat, not good!
Planning a rough itinerary for a trip to Europe next summer. Want to take in some of the countries I've not been to yet (which is quite a few). Hopefully a month will be enough because I'm not sure I can commit much more time/money than that.
Never been much of a Clash fan, but this is a great tune.
